    UPDATE:

So I now have the PJ Cardinal, Royal Gramma, and a new pair of chocolate clows .
I have a good sized CUC and one pistol shrimp.

My polyps and corals stand as follows:

    1 frag of GSP (thriving)
I picked up three new pieces today:
Candy Cane (11 heads) it looks great
Four large brown with green center polyps
1 kenya tree....it is still acclimating and is leaned over a bit.

Here are some pics. I have the coral bug now ;-)

I just started to add some corals and my parameters are as follows:
    ph 8.0
    salinity 1.024
    nitrates > 10ppm
    Ca 550
    Alkalinity 8.7
    Mg 1280
    80 degrees

Thanks for all the advice so far.this forum makes us new guys make far fewer mistakes.

I really like the dry rock you used.

Be careful with the corals! You will just want more now that you have started :)

Your calcium is really high, might have been a mis-test.

Good call on the calc.....I'll test again this weekend.

I used the red sea pro and it took more than a full needle of the titrate.....but it could have been a misread....I'll see next week.

You are right....I am addicted to the coral bad.

    looks great so far.

I have some of the GSP and I love it but be warned it spreads like wildfire so be mindful of what you put next to it.

Update - Tank is 1 Yr Old!

A little update - So my tank has been running for about a year now (started cycling last year about this time).

I really enjoy the Apex Neptune controller. It makes things so easy.

The last couple of months I have been battling some hair algae and a little cyano. The tank to the right you see in one pick is my RO/DI reservoir and is ran through the pump activated by the float switch in the main tank. (I do not have a sump)\

I am hooked and plan to step up to a 90 now that my one year experiment to prove I could keep one up. I will let you know if I pull the trigger.

    Livestock:

Pair of mated chocolate clowns. Locally breed.
    One Pajama
    One pistol shrimp

    Coral:
LPS - trumpet coral, candy cane, gsp, fox coral, blue Acan

Zoas - sunflowers, red, purple, green

    mushrooms - red and blue
