Hey guys, im really new to this, been only doing it since december, i have a 29 gallon aquapod BioCube, i had an attack of CYNO about maybe 3 weeks ago and treated it with red slime remover, it got rid of it ( i think ) my sand is really dirty and i have some brown algae growing on my live rock, which looks really nasty, should i be worried about the brown algae??? i have 1 yellow tang ( really small) 1 clownfish, the other died, and 1 wrasse, 1 turbo snail, 1 sally crab and about 4 red legged hermits and 3 blue legged hermits, i am noticing bubbles all over tank, really small bubbles, i dont think they are cyno, due to them being there for a week and they have not changed, i dont know what i can do to get the sand cleaned, and how to get rid of the bubbles any tip/suggestions would be helpful Thanks!

Thats a very new tank to have that many fish... and a 29 gal is way to small for a yellow tank IMO. What your going through is probably the "new tank" cycle. It is normal... Give us more info on your tank, filtration, lights, do you have live rock and water params...

I agree with marc. Its not the fact that the tank is only 29 gallons, its the fact that the tank is a cube, thus you dont give the yellow tang its 48" minimum swiming space. And its most problably you havent finished your cycle!!
Give us some more info, maybe we could help some more!

Well i got about 3 inches of live sand, 30 pounds of live rock ( fiji ) the lights are the ones that the tank brings, im lighting it to about 8 hours per day... the tang i got him really small, my gf owns a pet store so once he gets big he goes back and id get something small again, im guessing my main concern is those bubbles, im afraid of another cyno bloom, i also got 1 xenia coral which was doing great till i put the red slime removal and she got really sad shrivelled up immensely but now i believe is making a come bacl, my ph is 8.2 the salinity/gravity is on the money, i have not measued the other items but i will once i get home from work

to me it sounds like you are describing Dinoflagulates. what causes them is kind of a mystery. the best thing you can do is run extra carbon because some of them are toxic and can kill fish. siphon out as many as you can as often as you can, dont blow them around. if you dont have many corals in the tank then i would turn the lights off for about 5 days and cover the tank so the Dinos cant get any light at all

most corals can go some time without light. its not the best for them but they should pull through. ive seen people treat Dino by turning there lights off for 2 weeks with tanks full of corals and everything pulled through

Does the brown algae look like snot with bubbles in it? I think Chris & Barb may be onto something here.
