How do you feed frozen myosis shrimp to 2 small clownfish in a 28g nano. I was told to use half a square twice a day. When I put it in the tank shrimp bits went everywhere. They did eat alot, but my CUC was out in force and I'm pretty sure the tank will need a water change again now. How do you feed just a small amount of shrimp without this happening? Secondly, how do I know if their is too much flow in the tank? They seem to be hanging out in the back of the tank all the time. There is 2 PH's and the fish have been in for 4 days.

I would only feed one cube every other day and then feed quality pellets or flakes. You can turn off the pumps during feedings. The good thing about a cuc is they eat all left over food. I have a 28 gallon and feed frozen mysis every 3 rd day, the rest of the time pellets.

Cool, I think that will help. I tried pellets and flakes, and the stuff was flying around and they never even saw it. When you feed the cube, does the shrimp bits go everywhere? What do you think about the flow vs. them hiding out at the back of the tank. Could it be them still adjusting after 4 days?

Yes it blows all over the tank.

Clowns can be very strange sometime they just like to hang out in the back of the tank, mine do so, but are out front much more since they have gotten older.

Not uncommon for clown fish to not eat or refuse to eat for a couple days after introduction.

I would just add a very small amount of food twice a day until they get used to the routine and they will. Do not comprise water quality in attempt to feed them, if they are healthy they will eat eventually.

I like to take the frozen shrimp and thaw it with some salt water in a small container. I then take my "turkey baster" and suck it in once it has separated. I can then pump it out in the quantities and locations I would like it to be.

i have a 55g tank with allkinds of fish and inverts. i feed every other day with pellets, flakes, and fronzen food. but i dont put a whole cube in cause it started an alagae bloom. id use half or even a 1/4 cube if all u have are clownfish.

After you let the cubes sit in a cup for a while dump it into a fine net to get rid of the water. What the food is frozen in is very high in phosphates and if you dont clean the food you will run into a problem

I agree with others here. 1/2 a cube twice a day for 2 small fish is way overkill.

I'd probably just go with flakes or pellets for 2 clowns. Cheaper and easier. a few pellets each day will more than keep them happy.

While I do feed 2 - 3 times daily, I thaw the cube in a small plastic freezer container, strain and rinse in freshwater, then use a plastic baby spoon to add just a few pieces, wait for the fish to eat that, then add a few more until they're fed. I then refreeze what's left for later use. 1 cube will last nearly a week. (I, too, only have 2 fish ATM - green chromis).
