Hey Pat!! Welcome to 3Reef! This is the world's best resource for marine reefkeeping.

Like you, I'm about 5 min's from Big Al's. They have an outstanding selection, but caveat emptor--their staff is seriously lacking in knowledge and understandably more interested in the buck than the person. Additionally, with their HUGE overhead, they're way, way, WAY overpriced.

However, when I need dry goods I go there simply because it's less than 5 miles away.

FYI, Barrier Reef in Boca is a great place, they sell tanks at cost. I got my 90G drilled reef-ready tank from them for 219, including the plumbing. Fish's Paradise in Hallandale is good too. They're almost 30 years in the business. Fish Empire is close by, in Coral Springs, on Wiles Rd, west of University drive.

    Good Luck!! :)

Thanks for the welcome and the info Sparky. I've already learned alot from 3reef, it's a great source. I especially appreciate your heads-up on where to get good prices on a tank in our area. I get the feeling a larger tank is not too far in my future!
Oh, btw, my name is Tim. I know my screen-name is confusing....
