With my Kenya Tree, I got a "frag" from a friend who literally took a pair of scissors and cut a couple of stalks off close to the base. I placed each of the two frags in my live rock "squished" in some openings in the rock. It took a few days before they both attached to the rock. One is now almost a foot tall!

Hey, I understand its tough when your new to the coral game. from what I know you get a brand new pair of pipe wrench pliers so that it fits over different size rocks, then keeping the kenya tree submerged, place the pliers behind the footing of your tree and gently crack the rock. make sure you use caution around footing. It should be ok. I hope this helps. I just got a few new corals myself so keeping fingers crossed and lots of research. The local fish stores here in Florida can't seem to agree with care for my sea critters.

Well, it's been a few days... I took the whole rock out of the tank and cut it with a scissor as close as I could. I put the GSP back in the same spot. It seems to be fine there.

I tried a few spots in the tank for the Kenya without really pinning it down. I guess the fish kept knocking it over, because I kept finding it on the sand. It's now wedged in between some rocks.

I tried the rubber band way to hold it back down, but that just killed the bottom of the stalk below the rubber band. I then took a piece of media from an old canister filter and made a make shift home for it. It's not glued in, I just slide it in the hole. Although I did purchase CorAffix now, so I can use that if needed again.

    Thanks for the help.

It looks good the way you have it. I use superglue gel to glue my Kenya tree pieces to frag plugs. Totally harmless. Just make sure you don't keep it out of the water too much after applying the gel, because it heats up as it cures. Also keep an eye on the Kenya tree because as it grows it would shed branches that the flow will scatter all over your tank and you see little Kenyas popping all over:)

Well it's been a while, but the GSP is starting to spread to an adjacent (touching) rock which is great. As long as it doesn't spread from those two rocks I'll be very happy.

And the Kenya tree is doing awesome! It's now 2-3 times the size it was from the original post, and as "zoo 4 life" suggested, it began to spread! It looked like a piece snapped off, so I let it lie where it was and it seems to have attached itself quickly!

I have a bit of a red hair algae issue and 5 green bubble algae bubbles, so I'm going to get some more cleaners soon.

    Thanks to all!
