    ok so replacing the bio balls with the egg crate removed up to the trinkle tray i should be good for filtering, not I should keep the filter pad in there correct? also there is a sponge between the sump and the rest, I should keep that sponge too? making sure I get this right because it is getting set up this weekend. also I should leave the the lights off for a little bit like 2 weeks to help cycle? Thanks I am sorry I am a total newb

    I have almost the same sump .I removed the egg crate and filled up the chamber halfway with about 15lbs of the small mature Live Rock Fragments from my tank I am very happy with the performance of the sump now.

    Oh yeah Cut the big blue fat sponge in 3 pieces and just use a piece on either side leaving a space in the middle to allow pods to pass from the sump to the tank. I only use the drawer with no media unless I am using a phosphate bag or a carbon bag etc then I'll throw that in the tray.
