Matt, those corallife skimmers use a generic chinese made pump smaller than the turbofloater pump. I was considering getting one and emailed a rep at corallife for info on these skimmers. The pump on the larger skimmer is rated at about 550gph. I'm waiting to hear about more experiences with this skimmer before I commit to one. I'm looking at the turbofloater, ASM, Kent marine and Corallife skimmers. I need a larger skimmer because I will be upgrading to a 220g FOWLR tank from my 120g in about 9 months.

I purchased a coralife 125 about a month ago. It was easy to setup in the sump but I have yet to get anything out of it. I keep messing with the intake value and either get nothing or all water. I just bought some more lr once it cures and I add it to the tank hopefully I will get something.

Mine (65) is doing very well (all kinds of brown sewage in there)...
Too bad it's noisy though, as it's right in my livingroom. Definately not as quiet as just having the fluval. At least the critters will be happier.

Most Coralife skimmer owner real like them. The biggest complaint I have heard is a incorrect instructions and a few people had some flooding problems. Ryu and Pmazi how deep do you run your pump under water?

Thats why I like my remora skimmers. They are not the most efficient skimmers but there's no chance of flooding and they are truly set and forget. I have upgraded the pumps and they fill up the collection cup with thick dark gunk every few days. The key is keeping them clean as with any skimmer. I'm running a 650gph pump on my remora pro and a 420gph pump on the smaller remora.

I agree- spent about 2 hours trying to put the thing together and get it working- then surfed the net for correct instructions, since It wasn't working. I found a lot of info that they didn't put in my manual that would have been helpful.
It's only about 4" below surface.... my tank is teeny and it seemed to take up the whole tank when it was lower- I shortened the hose a lot, now it only takes up most of the tank.

My pump is also about 4 inches under water. The skimmer itself sits to the side of the sump just to save space. Don't get me wrong I do not dislike my Coralife I believe that at this point there so little in the tank that there is not much for it do yet.

They were suppose to be reworking the instrutions on the pump depth. Basically the shallower the pump the better it runs. Shallow=more air less water, deep=less air more water. As long as it is not sucking air from the surface. They we suppose to be updating the instrutions but I guess they have not got to it.
