Hello all, Here is my river reef 94 Ltr setup. I'm still cycling at the moment so hopefully the algae bloom will go. Got some really bad advice when setting up, but i have managed to find a lfs to take the anemone off me. I already have a river reef 48 ltr set up as a planted tropical aquarium this has been running now for about 5 months. My partner does not know my plans for a much much larger system ;D

Looking good. I'm not sure if it's just the pictures but I didn't see any snails or clean up crew. A good turbo or trochus snail will help at least with the aesthetics of the algae. Otherwise the algae should die off as long as your parameters are good after the cycle.

Always pays to start planning bigger, sooner!

Thanks all, Want to get my nitrite down before i put snails in still at 0.1ppm. The filtration on these tanks is superb.

I have the same tank as you mate. Is that the stock skimmer you have in there? How the hell did you get it in? I had a lot of trouble with it, ended up just throwing it away and using that section as a DIY Fuge.

No the berlin airlift you get with it is no use i sold that on ebay. The way to do it is to cut a piece of glass or perspex then seal up the lower two water outlets on the first chamber, So the water only comes over the top grill. Move your filter media into the first chamber, heater in the second then you can put a skimmer in the third. Once you do this the water level drops on the last three chambers. I got the skimmer off ebay for £2.99 and £10 delivery, it's a boyu WG308 and it's doing a good job. Spoke to the interpet rep who was visiting my local lfs, they are making mods to the river reef tanks that are the same as what i have done. Another tim would be to change one of you pumps for a hydor make a nano pump rated at 1120 lph this will help to. Good luck with the system
