I Got A 55 Gallon Tank But Dont Think The Floor Will Hold It Filled Up. Iam Wanting To Have Coral In Tank. Could I Fill It Half Way Up. I Was Wondering This Because The Tank Is Long And Would Make A Home To A Good Bit Of Coral. Or Would I Be Better Of Buying A 25 Gallon Or two 25 Gallons. I Really Like My 55 Gallon Though. Thanks For The Responses..:-/

I wouldn't fill it half way up. It will make it very difficult to have proper filtration, to add a skimmer, heater etc. What type of home do you live in? Most homes should be able to support the weight. Is there anything that makes you think it can't?

I agree with the above statement. You would not be able to run an overflow box and you'd have to do some crazy plumbing if you chose to go without. 55 gal isn't a huge tank, if your house is decent it should hold it!

could i grow coral in a 20 gallon tank or a 25 gallon tank then. or is that not enough space if i want to put 4 or 5 different corals in tank as long as they get along with each other

Do you want to do a coral only tank? You can certainly do a coral only tank. The only problems are its tough to keep water quality good in that small amount of water and it is slightly limiting as you can't fit as much coral as in a larger tank.

I have seen 55 in trailers and they hold up fine if it were any bigger then I would be conserned. Also what is your floor like.

I have a concrete slab (I envy you folks with, what do you call it, a basement? :p)

But if you're really worried about it, could you add support underneath the trailer? Few cinderblocks and a jack maybe?
