I'm very new to SW..... I bought a non-drilled 75G (wish I had known more about drilled tanks) I want to do coral and fish. The LFS sold me a Fluval 406 canister filter. I have learned this wasn't the best choice. Another LFS has now suggested a Eshopps WD-125CS with a Top Fathom 200 Skimmer and a reeflo blowhole BH-1100 pump. Thoughts? He also told me about Joy, the owner of Reefbrite, and suggested I call her and get a configuration for my needs, which he says will include MH's and LED's. Thoughts? In reference to the pump....is that overkill? Or is there a less expensive option that is good?

    Thanks!

you can use a 40 breeder for your sump no need for bio balls they can have negative effects if not cleaned regularly you could also just use a mag drive pump for a cost cut but it will add heat to the tank

+1 for asking for advice. Many LFS are about just making money and don't care about your system. You will be buying more as you change it around.

I understand the want to have a drilled tank, but an effective overflow will work. If I were you, I would definitely get at least a 30g tank for a sump. I have read in many places that bio balls can have a negative effect, and I have read that they can be good as well. If I was you look at the pros and cons of the bio balls.
