Hi! I have a 5-gal freshwater with two (RIP, Groucho) tiny comet goldfish and a black "mystery" apple snail. First time "really" setting up an aquarium (though not my first fish; I had a betta, three african frogs, and another tiny goldfish before (not all at once) ).

Hope to learn more as I go along!

Hello and welcome, I had freshwater tanks for years and decided to go salt and haven't looked back. :)

Thanks! Geoff: I chose Fresh as my first aquarium to hopefully be a bit simpler than salt, and because I wanted another shot at the first goldfish that died on me a few years back.

Betta-sitting for my friend got me hooked! XD

Fresh is definately more simple and I enjoyed it and if you have the fever you're gonna want to go bigger after awhile, it gets addicting...lol. (but I'm not addicted ::) )

I agree with Geoff. I had freshwater for so long and I was always scared of the whole saltwater thing, hearing it was so tough and all. I am glad I am doing the saltwater thing now.
