Hey just got my first saltwater tank... it is a 6 gallon nano...I KNOW nanos are harder than a larger tank...tell my parents that
any way i already LOVE the hobby as my friend got me into it.... It been up no problems for 3 months
and levels havent fluctuated for 2 months I have been on top of the water changes and maintenance...

anyway... i have 3 red leg hermits...10 snails..1 cleaner shrimp

what fish and corals would you recommend

    is a fire fish okay?

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
    Welcome to 3reef.

Fire fish are definite jumpers. You should look into a do it yourself mesh tops.

As mentioned in a previous thread, any of the smaller gobies would be ok as well.

Gobies tend to be perchers rather then big swimmers though.

A 6 gallon is small so you really cannot have too many fish in that. A fire fish is ok, do you have a cover on the tank? Fire Fish like to jump. A pair of clowns would look nice :p What part of NJ are you from?

You mentioned corals, it is important to know what type of lighting that you have before you can think of adding corals. :)

Yes you can. My daughter has a 8 gal nano with a pair and there is plenty of room in there. :)

AWESOME!! thanks so much i have wanted a clownfish but everyone always yells at me so i was planing on a fire fish which is my second favorite fish

over the summer i plan on getting a 64 gallon tank hopefully with a back up of a 30 gallon tank if the 64 fails

but i will now defiantly be looking into a clownfish or two
    thanks so much :)
