    They had him down at the lfs as a mosaic shrimp?

    Yup looks like a harlequin to me too. They can be a bit difficult to take care of though as they mainly eat sea stars and can be very hard to get to eat frozen foods.

    Pretty sure it isn't a harlequin shrimp. Saron shrimp maybe? saron marmoratus.

    I have to agree that it is not a Harlequin. In the pictures above the back half is completely wrong in coloration / pattern, the bands on the legs are not as wide as normal, the spots are too uniform and seem to lack the intensity of color gradient from outside to center that typically occurs, the eyes are way too big and spherical in comparison to the stalks that Harlequins have, and there is no evidence of the huge paddle-like extensions attached to the claws -- leading to the larger problem of the above shrimp having absolutely no chance at beating Forrest Gump in a Table Tennis match.

    It's neat... I wasn't saying it's a harlequin .. . just that it resembles one.
