    Ok so after setting up my 40 gallon reef 1 year ago i now think it is time for me to upgrade;D. so i purchased a 150 gallon glass tank, stand, and canopy with a corner glass over flow from the lfs. he just had a kid so the wife was making him get it out of the house lets just say i got a realy good deal;D

    So after i bought the thank i found another good deal on 2x250 watt metal haulides with baliust and reflectors it was a 1 1/2 hour drive but i got it;D

    My equipment plans:p
    Reef octopus extreme 200 protien skimmer
    32 gallon sump
    30 gallon refugium
    brs 75 gpd ro unit
    2 brs reactors one with np biopellets one with carbon and gfo
    2x250 mh with a 12 bulb led creed light fixture
    mag9.5 return pump

    So what do you guys/gals think anything i should change ?????

    And i know you all want pics i will post them tomorow relax lol;D

    Sounds like a pretty sweet build. Are you keeping or selling off your old set up. If so, people are all about buying lights on here 8)

    At least for me I try to shoot for at least 10x the size of the tank in flow rate so 1500 gph would be a min for me. That does depend on what kind of coral you may plan on keeping.

    Oo i forgot to put in there that i am going to put a vortech mp40 and mp20 on the tank as well

    congrats on the new set-up. I was wondering when you were going to start this build ;)
    Post up a schematic on your sump/refuge diagram if you get a chance. I'm curious why the two tanks and not integrate a sump/fuge combo with baffle. Anyways cool to hear about the awesome score

    i am deciding if i should sell the 40 or if i should keep it as a quarintine tank????? What u think?

    40 QT tank is very generous for a sick fish you might make it a QT / FRAG tank now that would be worth it.

    Following along here. Always fun watching a build. Keep the tank, never know when you'll want another project...

    thats what i want to do but if i make it into a frag/sick tank then i cant use copper to help my fish with ich.
