so i just set up my ten gallon last night. very excited. i went to my LFS and they told me i could have at least three bubble tip anmemones in the tank. I thought that was kind of alot so i only bought two. My tank is less that a week old and i already have two anemones and a blue tang in the tank!!! i am so excited. If you guys think of any other good fish to put in the tank just tell me.

Hold on there cowboy. Hate to burst your bubble but you def need to take the bubble tips and the tang back. Anemones need a tank at least a year old and an experienced aquarist. Also, tangs have no business being in a tank that small.

    Welcome to the hobby otherwise.

Also, your tank hasn't cycled yet. The ammonia spike alone will kill everything. You need to leave your tank sit and cycle for about a month, depending on numerous variables. During this time, you shouldn't have any livestock.

I'm afraid so. They probably just saw a way to make some money. Sorry to say it like that, but it's the truth.

Anyone in the area that can buy them from you. A dead anemone will kill an entire tank when it dies. I hate to say it, but it won't survive your cycle and they will set you way back.

No no no no, they need special lighting to survive, something like T5 of Metal Halide. They have symbiotic organisms growing in them that need the light. You really need to step back and slow down. Do you have any test kits yet?

Oh yea, they lied to you alright.

I don't like to be one of those "tang police" people but your tank is literally waaaayyy too small for a tang.

I recommend atleast a 120 gallon tank or more for a tang.

Also anemone needs to be in a well established tank, not a brand new one.

I would take all that back.

Right now all you need is some zoanthids maybe and 1 small fish/shrimp, couple of crabs/snails.

What kind of filtration do you have?

LMAO, sorry but i hope you are joking? Flashlight? Comeon man

Mine are under 500watts(2x250) of Metal Halides

You dont have lighting for your tank? Light is sort of important to all life on earth. lol
