Bubble corals - LPS, require moderate lighting and low-ish flow. If the flow is too strong, the bubbles won't expand. They can get by on light alone, but appreciate a meaty snack - feeding tentacles come out at night when the bubbles deflate.

Based on what you said before, wait until your algae is under control, as said above, and then I think you can consider a bubble with the lighting you have.

You cant be seriously bashing right now? You sit there and tell him to do research and he asks a ? and this is your response? Why in the world would he google it when he can ask a world of reefers who IMO know more then google can offer................

Mik, contiune to ask away you will get better answers here then a simple google search can provide, experience is key and thats what the group of 3reefers bring

He said he was looking at bubble corals in the first post . . . so I take it you were just looking at pictures? Anything I ever do to my tank i'm not 100% sure about I research, and after that if I cant find what i'm looking for I ask the boards. 30 seconds on a google search would have told him that a bubble was a LPS coral that likes moderate to low flow and moderate lighting.

bubble's are pretty easy and should be fine with your light. You should be OK with this one. The advise on these above is correct IME. Just need light but enjoy meat. And it's rad to see them eat.

i have 2 concerns for your tank.

    1. your CuC is not up to par yet. IMO, this is pretty important. It doesn't have to be before you really start stocking up on coral, but sure can make life easier if it is...

    2. the size of your tank with that torch... only in the sense that a torch can eventually take up a lot of stinging room. so be careful on placement as a torch will sting most everything you have in there.

To address some of the back and forth here... what I do when I have my eye on a coral I do not know about is I go somewhere like vividaquariums.com and look up a coral on their site and check out their specs and data on it. If I still have questions, then I come back here.

You don't have to do this, but it's easier to look up several corals on a site like that and really narrow it down than it is to individually ask about them here...

A little leg work will get you further and you'll probably "learn" the info better than if you just ask and are told...

but I think it's fine to ask questions here... different styles for different folks...

just be aware of the type of responses you get... the more info you bring to the table w/your question, the better the responses will be both in data and in tone.

My main problem when researching corals, was the whole medium to high flow, medium to high lighting. Still kinda fuzzy on what they actually consider medium to high. But other than that the online retailers do have good info sheets for pretty much what ever your looking for.

I would do a google and search the forums and/or ask. I would actually suggest NOT going to vendor sites to research coral or fish, as they always are a little shy about giving you 100% of the info you need to know about said creature.
But yes, any LPS should be fine in your tank. I also second the torch being large, but hey, whatever floats your boat ;) Mine is getting large to the point of bothering me in my tank, and it's 7 feet long ;)

The distinction between medium/high flow and medium/high lighting is inherently a blurry line. I would go more off what type of corals you want to keep. As you gain experience with keeping different types of corals, you will learn what flow is good and what lighting is good. Good luck.
