Alright guys, I picked up a frogspawn coral 3 heads for $20, they were out of 4 heads which I was looking for. Now Im already thinking for another coral, but I already have so much peach color looking corals, like Xenia, or Kenya tree. Im looking to buying a bit more colorful coral, but at the same time thats cheap and beginner friendly. I already have GSP also. So any suggestions guys?

tonga mushrooms are cool, i've have them in Brown and Bright Green, but i've seen them in different colors as well....they are really cool, and they have kept my green star polyps at bay...

You should get a hammer...some are really cool looking, I have a green and pink one that glows so nice under the actinics at night.

    Torch are nice too....

Are you looking for soft, and LPS....and not SPS?

Mushrooms and Zoanthids would be my choice, you can get just about any color you want with these. Also, you can start looking into leathers maybe;toadstool etc.

Hi Mkizla, I notice you are in San Jose too. There are quite a few good LFS in the Bay Area. Also, the local forum you can check out is bareefers.org

But yea, like others said, zoas and mushrooms are a good start for color selection. Torches and hammers are cool too, which blend well with your frogspawns.

ah i see, thanks for suggestions guys, keep em coming hehe. Im probably going to target zoas as my next coral, but unsure yet. If I do go for Zoas what would be colorful but at the same time a bit on cheaper side and hardy side?

Depending on the color, zoas are fairly cheap. however can be extremely expensive, and they are a pretty hardy coral.

Id suggest a Neon Green Toadstool Leather if your looking for something that gets a bit bigger and could be a bigger display piece, Zoas as colorful as they are, are a rather small coral I dont notice them as much as my leathers or LPS... even if their color is insane.
