I'm contemplating a new fish to the pack.

    So far:
    1 rusty angel
    2 o. Clowns
    1 firefish

    DT: 55 G

I wanted a tang but the only real option was a tomini bristletooth since they only get to 6", but I think he's too much like the angel so there would probably be lots of fighting.

I want to get a mandarin dragonet eventually but I'm going to make sure my pod population is huge before I do that (just installed a refugium a couple weeks ago, DT is 4 months old) So that won't happen until at least January.

So criteria is: must get along with my current stock, must not decimate the pod population.

I was thinking Midas blenny, they look cool, the yellow is something I don't have in the tank so it would be a nice addition and I don't think they will decimate the pod count (am I wrong?)

Whatever it is, this will be my only other fish besides the mandarin until I get a bigger tank which may be a few years so I want to make it count! Thanks for any suggestions or advice!

Midas Bleny is a great choice. Theyre one of my favorites. It will eat any meaty food really. Mysis, brine ect. Anything that you feed your clowns will be fine.

I have a Midas Blenny and love it, it's one of the most active fish in my tank. Also one of the most peaceful, never bothers anyone, & I'm fairly positive it doesn't eat pods. Mine feeds on frozen mysis/brine happily.

When I bought it, the LFS said it would choose a hole/cave and normally stay there but mine is always in the water column swimming around, It sleeps under my Red Monti. I also never worried it'd jump either, very well behaved & calm.

Here's a pic of the little bugger, got such cool eyes:

So for QTing these guys they don't need sand or anything special correct? Just some places to perch and hide?

I love the Canary Blenny. Awesome inquisitive personality, mine was always out seeing what was going on, even when everyone else hid. He would also play different games, one was swimming into the return vents and shoot out like a bullet when the flow switched on. They are very peaceful, but can definitely hold their own against more aggressive fish since they are venomous. And the bright yellow really stands out.

I have a midas blenny and love him! He is very active and friendly - and eats EVERYTHING! Such a pig. He is also super cute when he is looking out from his hole. He often turns himself upside down.

Their swimming motion is also really cool and will be different from what you already have in the tank.

I also love blennies! I had a black midas in my old tank and now have a tailspot. The Yellow is a very cool and vibrant color. I'd go with a blenny for sure. Awesome fish.

    Blennys are great fish.

Flametails are mean. IME they pick at corals to death too. Almost killed my placy before I got rid of the flametail.

Red Lipped - this one was my favorite. Tons of personality, very nice. Lost it to jumping though. Found it dried out.

Bi-color: I'm on my second one. Lost the first to jumping (see the trend? :p I have a barrier now, no more jumping). This is a great blenny. Treats the coral nice and has great personality.

I have a canary blenny, and it's very peaceful. It's not quite like the bicolor blenny from what I understand, since it's a swimming kind rather than a percher/lurker.
