So while my tank establishes for the next month or so, and the new rock I have is being cleaned / bleached / cured in the old 30g, I'm trying to decide which new fish I would like to add to my 75. I want a very colorful, active fish that will have personality and not hide the entire day. I like my current selection, but as I'm only adding 2-3 more (my focus will be on corals in this tank), I want to make the best selections to add the most color and movement.

    Chevron Tang
    Achilles Tang
    Fairy Wrasse
    Mystery Wrasse

Please make other suggestions too. I want a very colorful, striking fish and these fit the bill in my opinion. I'm leaning towards the Chevron tang.

Chevron tang's get too big (12") to keep in a 75 permanently, so that's something you will have to keep in mind. What about either of the powder tangs? Pair of clowns? Heniochus?

the achilles tang would probably need more swimming room. if you get a mystery wrasse i hope you have a closed top. probably good to have one for a fairy but losing that wont be as bad to lose that one.

    chevron tang seem good.
valentini toby/minipuffer would be good if you don't have shrimp or anemones. or clams

edit: nvm on the chevron then i thought it got 6 inches not 12, it would be ashame to buy that fish only to have to take it back

I thought the chevron didn't get that big either. I do plan to upgrade to a 200+ in the next couple years, and would order a juvi - anyone know how fast these guys grow? I would have a bigger home for him in around 2 years, but don't want it to outgrow quickly.

I do like the powder blues - are they relatively hardy under good conditions? I may pass on the wrasse as I don't plan to cover my tank.

Pair of clowns is out as I have a maroon and wouldn't trade him at all.

Powder blues are not really hardy fish. If you think hippos are "ich magnets", they ain't got nothing on a powder blue. Also, it can be very very difficult to get this fish to eat once it's acclimated to your tank so patience and persistence is necessary with this fish. Same applies for the achilles. Both are very sensitive fish.
