    Why should I buy one over the other? The MR1 looks to have a better build quality, but the TLF is $25 cheaper. Either way, I will be running it with my return pump, so no other pumps will be purchased. I wil also be purchasing two of these and daisy chaining them togethor.

    IMO - If its for either of the set ups in your sig or for that new frag bank your doing
    then the 2 little fishes one will be perfectly adequate

    the main differences are
    build quality is better on the MR1
    and it has a 4 inch diameter as opposed to 3 inch and thus accomodates more media
    and is advertised as being suitable for tanks up to 250 gallons
    the Phosban is rated for tanks up to 150 gallons per hour
