not to steal from your thread, but i think it could be more useful here than a completely new thread...

I have a big bubble coral, octopus coral, hammer, cabbage, kenya tree, and mushrooms... what do you guys with experience think about a niger with these corals? (as opposed to others)

i think "reef safe" has to do with the fact that it will be safe with inverts. that means shrimp, crabs, snails and corals. i think triggers love to eat the first three for sure but i never had one. would love to have a niger trigger but dont want to see it eat my cleaner shrimp.

All corals will eat coral sooner or later. It's like the flame angel.

I have a niger trigger in my reef tank...the main thing that makes them not reef sage imo is the whole invert issue. They like to dine on inverts but luckily for me I have no interest in having them in my tank, if he eats some of my blue legged hermits or snails i'll survive. Ive had him about six months and no major issues yet. However, all fish have different personalities. He hasn't done anything to the rockwork, and am worried when he gets bigger where he will go because he currently sleeps in a hole in a rock that he will definitely out grow. Thats my info, thanks!
