Did you consider a pink tail trigger? I have one and it's a cool fish. It was a little shy at first but now it's always at the front of the tank, it attacks the nori on the veggie clip while it is still in my hand. I really like the colors too, a really dark green with the pink tail and yellow fins. It is supposed to be one of the least aggressive triggers.

sorry, forgot about that. It would be kinda tight front to back in the 55.
marinecenter recommends a 55 for them but they recommend smaller tanks compared to the most other sites.
Good luck with your selection and tank.

ok, so what are the triggers that would be fine in a 55 gal? not together but just individually.

To be honest I only really researched the pinktail and niger because i wanted a less aggressive fish, so i don't know much about the other triggers. I guess a bursa or humu would work, but i have no personal experience with how aggressive they are or
    compatibility issues.

It may be that ONLY my triggers leave my lion alone, and it has a LOT bigger fins than a dwarf lion...but I think you will be fine, because lions usually mind their own business until feeding time

I love them all but would take a Niger over the Huma any day I currently have a 4.5" Niger with a 8" Volitan and they get along just fine, but it's always a risk with any Trigger.

Just make sure you really like the fish you get. If you don't really like any of the triggers you can get, there are lots of other fish choices.
