Congrats and those are definitely new sprouts.

It'll take off now! If you don't already, you might want to target feed it. I feed mine some brine shrimp every Sunday and that seems to keep it happy and sprouting. :)

I hope it does, yes I target feed mine brine every now and then. I have to stand guard and keep my peppermint shrimp from stealing from them.

    LoL!; +1 on the shrimp.

I'm to the point that I have to feed the cleaner shrimp right out of the baster before I feed the corals or he ends up pulling it out of the polyps.

Got around to setting up my avast marine ato, hopefully it works out. I've been topping off quite a lot imo. Gonna try and get an idea as to how much it goes through in a day. It goes through so much I'm kinda worried about a leak lol.

Ordered a refractometer from drsfostersmith yesterday, my hydrometer broke. Hopefully it gets here soon, was thinking about adding a wrasse but don't want to put a lid on the tank.

I would suggest covering it up anyways. Do a quick search and you will see how many clowns have carpet surfed...

I've thought about that too. Idk, whats the point in open top if your just gonna cover it is my thought. Would suck to come home to the black ice covered in dog hair and stuck to the carpet too though.

Trust me cover it. Get some bird netting in the garden section of home depot, lowes, etc. I rigged up a little something with some wooden dowel rods but my tank has a rim. Maybe just make something that just folds over easily, with like a velcro piece on the back side of the tank to hold it in place or something? The netting is great though. Thin enough that it doesn't block any light or cast a shadow whatsoever, and strong enough to last awhile and do its job.

I've had quite a few fish jump even with other homemade lids or no lid at all, and it just seems dumb not to have one to me lol. It definitely looks cooler with no lid but fish jump. They WILL..not if haha. My breaking point came when I found my $100 mystery wrasse on the floor of my room one day after school -_- I would hate to see those beautiful black ice clowns to do the same.
