ok, I have a confession. I was unable to complete this task in one day. I had a tuff time aquascaping not to mention I had to get up @ 4am. I am still not satisfied with my rock work so we will have to get back to that later today. Also i didn't get my reactor up and running yet.
my plan is to put my son to bed and then get back to the grind. pics soon to come....

a last minute change has me stumped, please help! While tearing down my tank and moving all my rock, i discovered a problem. many of my favorite rock pieces have unwanted growth on them. Mostly soft stuff like pulsating xenia and waving hand athenia. i want these gone forever but i don't have the time to nuke the rock. I tried to hack away with a razor blade but if i miss even an inch of the mate then if comes back.

Is there just a paste or solution i can buy that will kill these coral?

Even after tearing down my aquascape, I still can't build a good display. I guess I just have poorly shaped rocks. Anyone wanna trade? Ha!

I usally use bigger round rocks for bottom row of rock wall w/ spaces in between for holes for fishes,etc.. then I like to use flat pieces and softball size pieces to build the wall up. you can use what you have, just might have to figure out what addition sized/shaped rocks would work with your scheme.

once you get your rocks, you can do a rough layout on the flood.. also might want to invest in some reef epoxy to glue rocks together, or drill holes for connecting pegs.. etc.. you can also do the pvc pipe with rocks attached with zip ties trick.. either way you'll get it done right.. eventually.. :)
