Nitrate Bazooka?

Hey all

I'd appreciate people opinoins on this one

Nitrate Bazooka for Freshwater Tropical or Marine Coral on eBay, also Filtration Heating, Fish, Pet Supplies, Home Garden (end time 14-Oct-08 16:35:58 BST)

I have emailed the seller to try to find out how it works! It doesnt say its coil or anything, but uses special chemical compaunds. Has anyone heard of this before?

 

I saw this "to good to be true, miracle, one pill does it all" once and thought, " yeah right". They dont explain how it works or whats in it. If you do get it, let us know how it worked out. Luna

 

This looks like a coil denitrator to me - with a health dose of creative marketing.

Its just filled with Deniballs and every few yrs you have to replenish the Denimar powder. Aqua Medic has employed them for many yrs.

 

I did some digging up on it, and read some other forums that people have bought and tried this.
Turns out its sulphur based, but doesnt buffer the water afterwards so leaves it acidic.

Not a good idea!

 

Those sulfur denitrators are not too shabby if you have a buffer media(aragonite) afterwards... but adds that say "This unit uses state of the art chemical compounds to bazooka those unwanted Nitrates from your system." make me a bit sketchy.
