    No, I am trying to aquire the one made for the biocube, but cant seem to find it..

    Okies .. Not sure then at this point.. Still fairly new at SW myself..

    Just applying what I have read on 3reef here, and know from my FW background.

    wait those ceramic rings are bad? i thought they were good filter media actually

    They are for a short term but then fill with gunk and release nitrates. Live rock or even dry rock for that matter is a better option. More pourous and will become live if it was dry/base.

    Took me a bit to get my head around that too as I am used to using them in cannisters for my FW tanks. Lotta reading both here and other online sources all point that it's a bad idea. Less I read it wrong each time.

    ceramic rings are the best in place of bio balls, they are like little pieces of live rock, so how could live rock be better?

    Yeah, i thot someone would say that..Is it better to take them out? i have nothing in there for filtration if i do..

    it would be better for you to gather some rocks from outside and use them as media then keep the bioballs in, in other words, take them out.
