Nitrate Sponge

What is the recommended brand and type to add to my system to reduce nitrates.
Mine are high now and I am in the process of doing weekly water changes, I just want to help the situation along here.

Im a fan of Sea Chems Purigen for this purpose

the 100g packs come in mesh pouches so are great for use in HOB or external cannister filters
and IME , it does exactly what it says it will do on the box
and it can be regenerated, thus its effective long term and as such value for money IMO

but dont rely on it to work in all situations
this product combined with sensible feeding, routine water changes, cleaning of mechanical filtration media and periodic rock blasting prior to water change to remove any pockets of decaying material , is the way I control nitrates in my set up.
