I just tested my water like I do every Wednesday. My nitrates were 2 mg/L. I have a 55 gallon with 20 gallon refugium. Tank has been running for eight months. I have mostly lps and softies. Fish are in my signature.

This is the first time nitrates have been present since my cycle.

Is this an issue I need to address with water changes?

Water changes will help although that is not a bad level either with the corals you have.

That's what I thought. I guess I'm just interested in knowing why after a few months I start see some level.

IME..all LPS and softies tend to benefit from a little nitrates.
