    hi all
My qt 10g is showing nitrite levels at 1ppm. that being said would putting a skimmer on this tank help. it has been at this level for a few weeks now and waterchange doesnt seem to be helping all other params seem good
ph 8, nitrate 20 ( a little high imo), temp 80, livestock 1 flame angel almost ready for the display tank and 1 blue damsel which will stay in qt for now.
just wondering if i should worry about the nitrite at 1 mg/l or if i should do something about it. The fish seem to be doing fine and i have dosed with Seachem Prime to hopefully nutraize the nitrite. oh btw ammonia is 0.

    thanks for any advice !

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
All you can do is keep doing the water changes, make sure you are feeding as little as possible to still keep the fish healthy. If you have nitrites you had recently had ammonia too. Tank just can not handle the bio-load secondary to a small bacterial filter.

I don't use QT, but from my understanding if you put two fish in at two different times, it resets the timeline for the first fish.

Like, if your angel was in there and fine and you added that damsel some time later and that damsel had some issue that was not yet apparent, the angel could catch it. You'll think the angel is fine bc it's been in there for X days or whatever but the damsel kind of resets that timeline... It may have introduced some parasite that won't be noticeable for some time...
