    Right. The ocean has an "impeckable" way of staying clean. The foam on the shoreline could be similar to the effects of a skimmer. But in all reality, when you have that much volume, the little bit washing up on shore isn't enough for anything. Now saying that, I would think the reason we see it on the shore or near the shore is because of humans. Where there is human contact there is washing soaps, tanning lotions, pee...etc, so that could be the ocean removing the effects from us being in the water. But the filtration comes from the ecosystem within the ocean.
