    Simple question.
I've been skimming for about 4 days now and there's no proteins in my cup
    (hang on the back skimmer)
some condensation...I'm getting a nice little cyclone in the bottom and seeing one in the base of the cup where it meets the tube but nothing to dump yet.

    Normal? Thanks
    ...will post pics if needed

If it's a brand new skimmer, very normal. Most have a break in period.

as long as the water level is correct you should start to see some skimate after the skimmer breaks in. a week or more is normal.

Also consider that if your tank is a new setup, there really won't be much of anything to skim out yet. Additionally, some skimmers work better than others...which skimmer do you have?
