I am still without electricity as I type this....
How can't that be you may ask....
A portable generator and I need to run soon and get more gasoline or it.

Tuesday night the power here went down do to storms.
A tornado touched down very close to my house.
240,000 people are without electricity right now and will be without it till Saturday sometime.

I am on a cable modem and the cable just came back on a few minutes ago go I hooked up the computer and wala.

Don't know how long the cable will be up so I and typing as fast as I can right now.

I have bad news about my reef tank and will let you guys know later is cable stays on.

I hope for the best and expect the worst right now, so wish me luck and I hope I will beable to get online again.

Nautilus, I feel for you!! :'( I grew up in the midwest so I know about flooding and tornadoes. I hope you and yours get through this ordeal intact.

My brother lost his house out here San Diego in the fires last year.

If there is anything I can do please let me know!

3Reef is with you brother! Better times will be coming to you very soon!

One of my biggest fears also...esp. if I don't happen to be home...

A Generator is a must for anyone doing this "art"...

hold in there...stay close to home....

    Best Wishes & Good Luck!...

HI Nautilus, I am sorry that happened to you!!! I hope that first your family is all ok!!!! and second that your reef tank makes it threw the power outage as it is kind of like part of the family!! If there is anything I am able to help with let me know!!! ( I'm kind or far away to help physically but!! ) If things go sour on your tank maybe all here on 3Reef can take up some kind of collection to help??
Good luck and all the best..................... John

    Thanks everyone,

Lost most of my fish before I could get the generator up and running.
I still have my mated clowns and the pink spotted goby and lawnmower blenny and (3) never die 3 stripe damsels. 10 snails and a few crabs.

Corals all look OK so far just a couple sickly ones.

I put in a window A/C unit yesterday which has helped alot as far as us surviving the heat. all money that could have been used to upgrade, but I guess the man upstairs had other plans.

Good Karma to you....as I sadly, am somewhat familiar with what your going through, (on a much smaller scale)
I will pray your power be restored soon and that you all get through this OK...... :-/

Well the electric company forst said within 24 hours, then a couple of days then Friday by noon (past that now) then it is Saturday and some reports say next week maybe.

I guess they will tell you a future date so it makes them look good when it comes on before that :D

My xenia does not look to good right now but hoping a water change will boost the tank. I got all the dead fish out before they caused an issue but you never know. I may have to do some rock work and look later. Before I got the power back to the tank I saw millions of worms all over the place. will have to do something about that next week.

A report say a car was lifted up (front 2 tires) off the ground on the second storm that hit the following night that took my power out. Since I have had no local TV I was left in the Dark...:D now just catching up.
