Hello, i am relatively new here but have a 4.5 month old reef. i am at the point were most of my algae is gone, coralline is growing, sps is happy, and water is stable. On my sand bed i have something very odd that i cant seem to find anywhere on the internet so far. I have little black tubes sticking up out of the sand... it looks like roots or stationary worms? I have tried to vacuum them with no success. i wont be able to post pics of my particular ordeal until Sunday, but i found a crude picture on google images, so i will try and post it. It looks really bad as if my sand has detris all over it.... its the only thing that is holding my tank back as far as looks goes, please help!

They should cause any problems in your tank besides being unsightly. You may need to cut back on your feeding to thin them out.

It may take a while for them to thin out. Hang in there.
