So I started noticing these things in my chaeto in the sump a week or two ago. There are a few of these, ranging in size from a piece of hair diameter to the one I have a crappy picture of which is about the diameter of a thick piece of chaeto. It is whitish in color, cylindrical, with small hairs branching off from it with a ball type thing on the end of each hair, the whole body pulsates (shortens and then elongates repeatedly). In the picture it is located right in the middle intersecting some chaeto.

That is a nudibranch. It will most likely die after it consumes what ever it was eating in your sump or what ever it was eating from your supplier of Cheato.

Dont think its a bristle. And i have never seen a nudi that looked like that, any idea what type of nudi it would be? There are quite a few that seem to be doing well and growing which i wouldnt expect of a nudi.

I'm pretty sure that's not a nudibranch, but I have no idea what it is. If LeslieH is still around, she could almost certainly ID it for you.

Can caulerpa extend and retract its self in a pulsating motion though? And I will try to get a hold of her.
