    Looks like an asterinid star to me also. It should be reef safe.

    ive got about 6 in my tank, they are completely harmless, and they dont get any bigger then what you have, if you want to take them out go for it but its nothing to worry about!:)

    i wouldnt say they are harmless i used to have them munch my zoanthids down to nothing over night...there are different types of these little guys..they are awesome grazers, however some graze on desirable stuff (corals) and not so desirable stuff (algae) keep an eye on them if you notice polyps disappearing you will know why..

    supposedly white ones are reef safe..and the browns ones are the ones you dont want..this is just what i have heard so dont hold me to it..research about them and read other reviews..but its an asternia

    If they're hanging around on the glass and rocks, they're eating algae.
    If they're hanging around on your zoas...well...you can guess the rest.
