Hi Reefers,Over a period of two years, I have tried to keep some clown fish without ANY success. Different kind of clown fish, 1 at the time, 2 or 3, even four last two weeks ago but never managed to keep it/them more than a week. My tank is mostly Tang dominated and they are voracious and they don’t give a chance for the clown fish to eat. Even though, sometime I see it eat once or twice, they will give up after few days. I have tried all kind of foods as well but the result was the same… I have two anemones in my tank (rose/green buble) and some of the clown fish hosted them. What I am doing wrong? Or is my tank not a clown fish friendly?Thank you for your advice.[IMG]

First, tank look GREAT! I have had the same clowns for 5 years now & the female is a pain. She's the boss of the tank & will bite the heck out of me when I'm near her or the anemone. Clown are one of the easiest to keep, but not funny or friendly.. You could try this, feed the clowns by added the food to the anemone. Only clowns for the most part except a few others, can go next or onto the anemone. It will take food from the anemone as it sees fit. Your tangs will stay clear or run the risk of getting stung.

your tank just has too many large agressive fish in it to add a small timid one. i would suggest just next time adding the tangs last after the introduction of all the smaller less robust fish,

I'd add a big maroon clown that could fend against bigger tangs. Nice brains BTW!

yes either maroon saddleback or tomatoe, they all if large enough could fend for itself

Sometimes certain species of fish/coral simply do not do well in certain tanks. :-/
