    My bio-wheel filter on my mini 20g stopped working on me yesterday. Totally my fault as I had unplugged it to do some work in the tank and when I turned it on I forgot to put some water in the main chamber so it can start pumping!

    :mad: :rifle:

    So, for now my only source for filtration is my LR and LS and my two powerheads to keep the water moving. I have no skimmer yet and no plans to buy one in the near future. Am I doing damage by going with no skimmer?

    I feed the tank more-or-less once a week by dropping a small pinch of mysis only. That's it !

    As of Aug.8:

    Ammonia = 0
    Nitrite = 0
    Nitrate = 0

    Can I get by status-quo and for how long? (I guess keeping an eye on my parameters will answer the "how long" part of my question).

    I feel like such an idiot.

    Thanks.

    I don't think you have anything to worry about as long as you're changing your water regularly. I had a 20 gallon that I ran for years without a skimmer and had no problems because I kept the bio load low, had a lot of live rock and changed water often.
