Can you cover with a blanket to keep heat in?

And it may sound odd, but make a little tent with the blanket and get under there with it. :) Body heat works.

Good luck! It's frigid up in the U.P. as well. Hope they get it on for you ASAP.

Have a blanket around it now. Just worried it is going to take a day or 2 to fix it. :/

Heat up some water on a stove or if you have a grill outside. Poor it in freezer bags and place in the tank. Hopefully you have a way to heat water up. Good luck!

I wouldn't worry that much about the heat just yet, as it will drop slowly. Try to keep your tank well oxygenated and call DTE about the pole. I know the HD in Troy rents out small generators for like $30 a day. Thats what I did last year during the storms.

I don't know what type of vehicle you drive but do you have an electrical outlet in your car? You could run an extention cord to the heater.

don't worry, it can be okay! I made it through 6 days with no losses.

    here's what I did:
    1. covered with blanket
    2. pump with airstone
    3. 2x daily water changes w/ heated water
    4. no feeding

check it every few hrs to make sure the temp is 70ish and the pump (hopefully with an airstone) is still working. Mine lasted about 3 days with new batteries. Other than that, keep it covered. Do you have a way of heating water? I personally heated my wc water to about 90 and added it very slowly. I have also seen people recommend heating water, putting it in bags and floating it. If you have any way of keeping the room temp up to around 70 this will also help. I have a gas stove so I boiled water. Sounds funny, but all this stuff worked for me. Good luck
