What's the longest yall have been without power and didn't lose anything in the tank? So far it's been an hour an a half since mine went out. And my BPS turned off about 45 minutes ago... I'm doing what I can to make it so the water isn't stagnant but with no way to heat the water it'll get cold quick... Anyways just wondering how long other people have gone.

Put hand warmers in zip lock bags and drop them in tank. Drive somewhere with power and heat up RO/DI water. Run a power inverter from your car and plug run an extension cord to your heater and a powerhead. Put a container of water in front of the fireplace.

All extremely good ideas!! I couldn't drive anywhere though, there's about 14 inches of snow. But I love the handwarmer idea!!! Oh hey by the way can you shoot me that information we talked about last week?

I actually got a back up power thing that powers computers/servers in case of blackouts. Keeps my PH and hob running for about 2 hours.

I've gone 4 days in mild weather....lost a nem, a seahorse, a small red starfisn, anthelia (most of it just a few left) an ailing trumpet and all the pulsing xenia.
Survivors all other fish in my signature, mushrooms (reg. and hairy) colt corals, kenya trees, the macro and sponges, CUC inc bristle worms and asternias.

Back up generator, nobody should be without one. The smaller, portable kind works great for a saltwater setup. Should be able to pick up a good used one for under $500. With what you invest in this hobby, it's really a no brainer.;D
