I went 3 days with no power during a harsh ice storm. I came back from vacation and found my tank at 65*F. I have a gas stove which still works when the power is out so I kept heating up a small pot of saltwater on the stove and slowly mixed it into the tank. Luckily I didnt loose any livestock.

My old roommate in Tahoe used the gas stove method for heat, and sat there with a straw blowing bubbles in the tank for 3 hrs :laughy:I was laughing, so hard the whole time, but I did not have a tank of my own yet. I used the stove top for heat and a turkey baster for water movement, the next time because I had my first tank then :sweethear

haha. thats crazy. i just kept taking cups of water out and pouring them back in for surface agitation. Much easier than blowing "CO2" bubbles through a straw.
