The cartridge you have is well spent color changing DI. You need a pound of MBD-30 not an RO membrane.

Not all DI is color changing. Mine looks like that brand new. As said, what is on your table is a filled with deionization resin. The Filtec is the membrane.

You probably don't need a new membrane unless the one you have is really old or damaged. Why do you think you need a new one of those? Or is it just the mistaken label and you really need new DI resin?

well I guess I might have to change that as well. I was told I should change the ro membrane but maybe it was being confused with the di granules. How often do I need to change the ro membrane? Considering I will only be running this for about 10-15 gallons a week. I dont currently have a tds meter either.

Membranes last years with normal wear and tear.

Yes I believe it was just a mis-identification of the part that needed changing. My unit does also come with a DI bypass. So I can still get usable water until I get the media replaced
That's great to hear as the unit has close to a year of use and nowhere near max capacity.

Nevermind that bypass was actually just a flush valve.

If the system has been out of use and stored for any length of time you probably do need a new RO membrane as well as the DI resin or cartridge.

The way to tell is with a handheld TDS meter. Test your tap water TDS and your RO only TDS. If the RO TDS is not in the 96-98% less range than the tap water then it is in need of replacement. A bad mambrane may als oproduce lower GPD than its rated capacity at 50 psi due to plugging or fouling.

Is it likely a lfs will have the meter to test it? I'm not sure where I would go to purchase the replacement materials without going to an online retailer.
