This might be a stupid question but do they not make a container to keep in the big tank for baby clowns?

They are tiny when they hatch. The mesh needed would be too fine to allow any circulation so multiple tanks are used.;)

Any in tank container would need to allow for the water exchange, plus be able to keep the rotifers in with the fry instead of allowing them to escape to the main tank.

I haven't tried this myself (but have read up on clownfish breeding...) and from several writeups I saw people using Prime or Cloram-X or other dechlorinators that bind ammonia around day 3 rather than mechanical.

So far I am having a good success rate. I am using the sponge filter.. I have plumbed my grow out tanks through my main system and use valves to control the water flow through so water changes are just matter of opening a valve..

I now have stopped feeding rotifer to a new fry and use larvae dry food that I seems to be family good... my latest fry is 8 days old and never been fed live food of any type, not once.. I estimate about 70% of the Fry is making it..

here is a pic of one that is almost 35 days old..

    very cool..

Also is that a flatworm or isopod to the upper right of the clown? I am leaning towards flat worm.

I know flatworms are on the to watch list but wonder what others would do if they saw it.

I have not seen any flatworms in my system but bit does look interesting so time to look very closely to the system..
