I "usually" test every week, but it gets to a point that you will know what your comsumption rate is as time goes by. So you will dose without even measuring for it. Most of my dosing elements come from Kent Marine. I use Kent Marine's Tech M, Liquid Calcium and Super buffer. Luna

Thanks for the feedback. (I'm gonna get good at this even if the math kills me!)

Same almost word for word. No problems whatsoever.

I don't do WCs anymore either. Not since 9/08. The only thing in my tank that gets a little out of control are the phosphates. Since my fuge is not up and running yet, I rely on phosphat-E. Binds the PO4 to get caught by the skimmer and/or socks. Otherwise, my tank has been doing great.

Yes I do.....he is in the same spot she homesteaded about two months ago. I think this life form is really, really cool. I did a little write up on it here a few days ago.....in holding pattern until they figure out what to do with it. By far my favorite entity in my tank, the killer queen.

I don't do water changes with the exception of trafering water from one tank to other. Although I do take out a ton of algae gorwth. calupra mainly. So I am removing something from the tank.

I've got a mess on my hands now. Looks like bubble algae, and red/brown algae over everything. 2-12-09 parameters:
    Temp 80
    Salinity 1.025
    Ph 8.0
    Ammonia 0
    Calcium 330 mg/L
    Phosphate .05
    ALK 8.6 dKH
    Nitrite 0
    Nitrate 0

On 1-25-09 I went digging for a rather large bristle worm. Stirred the sand. Got the brown on the sand after that. 1-30-09 did a 15 gallon water change (r/o-instant ocean, heated/powerhead). Bubble stuff on top of the rocks started 2-6-09, after I cleaned the Koralia. From what I've read, I'm overfeeding, and my calcium is too low. Feedback?

I change about 15% every 2 weeks. Picture is worth 1000 words.

New water on left, old on right.

I couldn't believe the difference myself so I changed positions, old on left new on right. This one was taken without the flash.

Old water was removed from the top of the tank without stirring up sand or vacuuming. While in the tank the water looks perfectly clean.
