noise fromPM Bullet skimmers

So are the Bullet series and the AquaC EV series the same setup? They look like they operate the same. I was looking to upgrade to a EV-180, but have seen good reviews on the Bullet series.

 

They are made by two different company's.

 

Otty.. come on... I'm not that much of a rookie.

I realize that. I don't know how efficient the AquaC injector is, but I read up on bullets. I thought about getting a EV-180, but I see many folks like the bullets. May change my mind.

 

I have had a small Remora Aqua C on a 55g and it did ok. My Bullet 3 that I have on my 265g is by far an excellent skimmer for the money. I could throw $2k to $5k down on a skimmer and have a nice one too but the bullet is good for the money.

 

I have to revise this .. I've been running my skimmer with the becket not seated properly for almost a year. lol
Just recently discovered this and now it skimms like crazy. I just didn't have the squares on the becket properly in the notch. It still worked so I just didn't think much about it. Now the thing is producing much more bubbles and I'm gettting the black skimmate that I was referring to below.
Also now it is much noisier.(steady air noise) I may look into a muffler.

 

My bullet is very noisy. I took the muffler off and now it sounds like Darth Vader breathing. Along with the standard injector noise. But it performs better / clogs less.
