Hey guys. I haven't posted in a while, have been busy with finals and whatnot. Anyways, I have recently put an external overflow box on my tank. At first it was gurgling pretty bad so I put the gurgle buster on it which works like it should. Now my problem is that the water draining from the overflow is still making a lot of noised as it falls into output tube. No gurgling but sounds like a waterfall. I am still using soft tubing for the plumbing and I dont know if its possible for this noise to be quieter (I hope it is because I sleep in this room) but if anyone has any input it would be greatyly apprciated. Any questions just ask. Thanks.

    Mike

Raise the water level in your sump!

Switch to hard PVC. That way you can plumb it so it goes down into the sump, do a 90 degree angle so it goes horizontally, then another 90 degree angle so it goes up. It's what I do and it works great.

The hard pvc pipes does work, but the trick is to be able to get an "even" flow. the more turns(elbows) you have, the more the flow gets restricted. I hope I made sense. Luna
