Noisy Skimmer-Odysse PS75

My skimmer is very loud. I have an Odyssea PS75. It seems to be pretty noisy. This is my first skimmer, so I don't know if skimmers are supposed to be loud. It seems to be working. I have to change the collection cup about once every other week. Its pretty green and smelly but not to thick. Anybody else own this model?

 

Mine is very quiet for a skimmer. Make sure the pump isn't touching anything since that can make a bunch of noise. Do you have it set up as a hong-on or in-sump skimmer?

Mine is HOB and makes moderate noise, no more than other skimmers. I empty the collection cup every three days so, I would check your 'bubble rate' and/or water level. It's a great skimmer especially for the price.

 

The skimmers are probably the only item that I wouldn't buy from Odyssea.

you should be pulling more than that , retune your skimmer
