Noisy skimmer

    Hey guys, I just set up my tank and was giving my skimmer a test run. I have a Nautilus te skimmer and the pump itself is not that loud. The source of the noise is the exhaust water. It bubbles through a small sock and is about 2 inches above the water level. This causes a water fall noise, i was just wondering if this exhaust has to be above the water level. I assume its designed this way to help eliminate bubbles?

    Extebd the output with some tubing to be under the surface a little bit and no more noise.
