I'm looking for a pair of non traditional clowns that would be fine for my 20L. I love clowns but already have a pair of Ocellaris in my 40B. I was looking into a pair of black and white clowns, but got to thinking that they wouldn't be seen so well against the live rock and black background. Is there any other color variations out there that aren't super rare and super expensive?

As far as I know Ocellaris and Percs pairs are the only clowns that would do well in a 20 gallon as adults. Am I wrong?

    TIA

You can score a pair of Snowflakes without destroying your bank account. Picassos and Platinums are reaaally expensive.

Any clowns will do okay in a 20L, though you may limit what else you can put in. Might look at pink skunks, they're different. As for occy or percs, any of the blacks will show up fine and I like snowflakes as well. The more designer, the more expensive.

Yeah...I'm looking to keep them under 4" adult fish. Limits the choices for sure.

If I do any other fish it will probably be a bottom dweller. The plan is make this an LPS reef with just a couple fish.

    Edit:
Actually, I've been planning on a pink line wrasse. So I think Ocellaris or Percs would be best. I'll just have to see if I can find some oddball ones.
