OK so I think I'm going with the black and white ocellaris. I found a pair of juveniles for $60 locally, is that an ok price?

No need to go with the same color variaton in a species and percs and ocellaris interbreed. I have a 10g with an ORA picasso (perc) and an ORA caramel (ocellaris). Each fish was about $50 at my LFS.

Definately not black. It's a chocolate brown color. The other I'm pretty sure is a perc so it wouldn't be a snowflake.

The B&W start of that brown caramel color with the orange face and when they mature they become a solid black and white....

They other guy is an Ocellaris or false perc. A true perc has thicker and darker black edges on the white bands. The "snowflake" comes from the shape of the bands, its a variation of misbar if you will...

$60 for a pair isn't too bad. You could likely get them cheaper online but you have that X factor of things being shipped. I'd rather pay more for local and have peace of mind. Not to mention, supporting your local LFS is a plus.

You get better info on ORA clowns from ORA's own website, orafarm.com . The website of your links uses ORA's pictures but slightly changes the names and descriptions. But no harm done. What ORA calls a Picasso, sustainable reefs calls a Semi-Picasso. Same picture on both sites and yes it's a Perc.

If you look at the clowns on ORA's website it's clear that the names I gave -- Caramel and Picasso -- are right. As far as prices go, I paid about $50 for each fish. On sustainablereefs.com The Caramel is a bit less and the Picasso is a bit more. Net sustainablereefs.com is a bit cheaper but then there is shipping and I would always rather buy from a trustworthy local dealer as I did.
