I haven't had much success with Xenias I got my first frag about three weeks ago. I drip acclimated it for over an hour, and it seemed perfect when I added it to the DT it never started pulsing though. At first it swayed with the current but then it fell on its side. It died and I later bought big piece of live rock with plenty Xenias on it and it saw the same future. Its not dead but I thought Xenias spread like wildfire.

I added a frag about 3 weeks ago...took about 3-4 days to start pulsing. Now it has quadrupled in size!

Was it pulsing at the LFS? Not all xenia pulses.

With that being said, pulsing is not a sign of health by any means, so no need to worry. Xenia can be very finicky. Sometimes it pulses, then stops, sometimes it comes back, etc. No one knows exactly why it pulses, or stops for that matter.
What kind of flow is it in currently?

If my brother hadn't taken my camera, I would take pictures of it. I know how pictures are the first thing other members ask for.

MY tank is 7 months old. I use 2 96watt pcs, I know not sufficient, but my Zoas and mushrooms are doing great, and I thought xenias weren't too demanding.

What is your salt level at? Most xenia like it at 1.026. Also I think it could be your lights. I had a bunch under pc bulbs for a year it did not pulse but grew like a weed. I moved it into my new tank with mh bulbs and it pulses like crazy now. Just giving you my experiance.
